Yes! We are still in NZ - We finally have web access again!

To all our followers, family, friends and blog readers -
There we were in Fiji.... moaning about the lack of web access.. and comforting ourselves that going to NZ would be much better where the internet was concerned.... how wrong we were...
So apologies for the lack of photos, emails and blog updates.
We are all fit and well - enjoying the amazing scenery, places and experiences that South Island has had to offer us as we travel around. We have met some AMAZING people in the last 10 days and even got to stay with newly made NZ friends last night in Arrowtown which was a lifesaver in more ways than one! Thank you again Joan and Emily and Ollie the dog!

We have seen lakes, rivers, fjords, bridges, snow, sheep, deer, penguins, seals, sealions and much much more! WE ARE SO LUCKY!

We have travelled through Christchurch, south to Akaroa and the Banks Peninsula, then across to Lake Tekapo and Mount Cook. Further south to Omarau and environs and then the mammoth trek across country to  Dunedin, Lake Te Anau and Milford Sound. ( Not all in a day - but almost!) Yesterday and some of today was spent in Arrowtown and Queenstown - we wish we had the luxury of staying a little longer here but we will return! This afternoon we made another enormous journey North and West to Franz Josef - glaciers tomorrow.

After this we are continuing north up the West Coast towards Greymouth and Westport - before heading across country (again) to Nelson. Then a quick divert down to Whale Watch in Kaikoura before boarding the Interislander at Picton to go to North Island and Wellington.

As you can see we are packing a heck of a lot in - the days are very full and very long, Nelly the Nissan groans at every corner, the scenery is breathtaking and we are loving every minute! Despite the predicted dip in morale as the honeymoon period of Fiji ended - we are settling in to our "travelling" life in NZ and wish we had more time here. We will post pictures etc when we have more time. Love to you all DNTR xxx

  1. Hiya! Sounds like having lots to see and do is suiting you all even though it is winter! Keep on enjoying it I'm going to have to find a map and mark all those places on it so I can visualise where you are! If you want Viv's address in Auckland when you get that far north shout and I'll email it to you, think I've got a tel number as well! Lots of love to you all Janet
