This is our base in Kota Bharu - it is not in the bext of locations for the town, but this is reached by a short, haggled price, taxi ride. However it does have the added advantage of being right opposite an enormous Tesco Lotus complete with local food court which actually proves a blessing over the next few days. David is suffering with a bug, which puts him completely out of action, we spend a quiet day getting our bearings and reassessing our next few days. There is no way that he is up to another long journey out to the Perhentians and we also are becoming concerned that the rainy season may have already started. A new plan is needed and so we decide to head up to the Cameron Highlands instead.
