Day 141 12 Nov Sat Kota Kinabalu

Today we catch a water taxi across to the island of Pulau Mamutik, one of five islands in the Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park where there are good beaches, clear water and great snorkelling.

Mamutik is 300m from end to end and we spend the day, complete with a picnic lunch, "en famille" just pottering on the beach and in the water where we see yet more amazing coral and fish.
Tiegan and Nicole stroll along the beach and encounter this huge monitor lizard (similar to the one we saw in Australia) going for a swim before it made it's way back up the little beach and into the safety of the jungle.

The island really was a beautiful place !

We finish the day with a quick game of bowling and supper at an outside food court - Grace Point - where David enjoys a delicious lamb curry and roti canai - a flaky pancake- a bit like a naan bread- only better!
