After saying goodbye to Nelly the Nissan at the Jucy depot - she did, after all our initial concerns about her groans and creaks, make it on our just under 5000km NZ journey. We board the airport shuttle and check in for the long day ahead of us on board two Qantas flights.
A 3 hour one to Sydney and then after a very long but civilised 5 hour wait, a 3 hours domestic flight to Cairns. The girls amused themselves on the travelators by our boarding gate and we relaxed, read and drank endless cups of coffee!
Tiegan and Rowan were even given Qantas aeroplane sweets by the check in lady and the Australian customs man stamped the bears passports!
